Helicopter Rotors

First Level Appearance

Puts vehicles to flight

Material Type

The Helicopter Rotor is a vehicle part that is the third to be introduced as one of the items to purposely allow to make vehicles fly (the other two being Airplane Wings and Balloons, and can be considered as the normal Propeller's bigger counterpart, but with the added feature of being self-stabilizing to a certain point.

The helicopter rotors, when active, will lift up the vehicle to the direction it currently be pointing.

To activate, the player must press its respective button (a blue box with the helicopter rotors in it), located at the bottom of the screen, if one is to activate all helicopter rotors still available at once, or the part itself, if one is to activate them individually.

Interestingly, helicopter rotors will always attempt to face themselves up, even if they are mounted forward or backward. This may cause some unwanted flipping of your vehicle. Wings can counteract this. They seem to have some kind of self-righting mechanism to keep themselves pointed up, though they can still be flipped.

The helicopter rotors are made of metal, the most durable material in the game, like the propeller but have skins that give the helicopter roters an appearence that looks like it is made from wood.

The helicopter rotors, even if it is made of metal, is considered to be of medium durability, because it's height can make it vulnerable to landscapes that can cut it off the vehicle, and that it can easily be cut off the vehicle also if it hits a ceiling. It's intresting shape combined with its somewhat wonky hitbox makes it susceptible to becoming lodged into terrain, forcing you to restart the level, unless you have enough power to pull it out (which usually breaks the blades anyway).

Alien version of Part exists. This version goes in reverse. Version is also for regular Propellers.
